My professional career with cameras started 1978 when I left ATV to work as cameraman and editor for Atlantic Video Productions, operating one of Canada’s first broadcast ENG production units.
After several years of successful documentary, commercial, and news production, Atlantic Video was purchased by Halifax Sales and Promotions, where I accepted the position of producer/director and opened one of the Maritime’s first post-production facilities.
My Bio
In 1991, I accepted the position of Motion Images Co-ordinator for the Nova Scotia Government, and had the opportunity to shoot and direct numerous commercials and video projects including the creation of the signature video for The Halifax G7 Summit.
In January 2001, I left government to work independently again and launched my own small production company, aptly named, Duncan Moss Productions. It wasn't long before my entreprenueral urges gave rise to Moss Media Lab, a small duplication and web design shop as well as Moss Media Solutions, a boutique communications and video post production service.
In the mid 80s, I served as President and Chairman of Film Nova Scotia, where I co-authored the first Nova Scotia Film Production Guide.
As well as fulfilling other commitments, the last year and a half has been spent on assignment as Director of Photography and now Online Editor for the mini-series M5-Weapons of War, scheduled to air this summer on the DiscoveryHD channel.
